Sleds

I found these sleds at Sledwarehouse.com The are super cheap and there is a review from some dudes who took them skiing on there site. The other sled that I've used is called the Paris Expedition sled and they are $35 each @ REI. This is what we had in AK and they were pretty nice.
Shipping sleds is expensive so if anyone else is down I'd be up for ordering up some sleds together and save a little on shipping. The cheaper sleds come in three packs and shipping is $15 no matter how many you order. If we get 9 that makes them $12.50 each.

I don't think this approach to the yurt is very technical so I would be more inclined to get the cheap sled. I also really don't think the $35 sled is really going to be much nicer. Pulling a sled pretty much blows.

Sun Valley Lodging

Best Western Tyrolean Lodge Sun Valley

Hey all, it seems like a good time to book a hotel in Sun Valley. I was thinking one big suite would be great for us, however, I don't think any are available. I have found some room for about $125 a night. I am thinking of trying to book two joining rooms soon. Does anybody want there own room or have any ideas for where to stay? Seems like February is getting booked fast so we should get on this.

Looks like we have a 7 passenger suburban for the ride over!

From the FUTURE!

I just checked the weather and it looks really good for our trip. Hi of 23, clear skies. Looks like the monster storm system that is rolling through right now is gonna dump about 20 inches of goodness on the 'Tooths'. The storm is setting up perfect, came in wet yesterday and is cooling as today passes and will close out tomorrow with the ultra light fluffy stuff. On top of an already super deep snowpack which has showed few signs of natural avalanche activity so far this season this storm is the icing on the cake. Looks like we will be skiing safe winter pow down monster 2000' couloirs. Pretty pumped right now.

Group List

Hello everyone,

Just back from Yosemite, and already the Sawtooths are looking quite snowy. The drive back yesterday we got some views and it's already adding up!

I would like to get everyone added as a follower, or if you are interested in posting let me know and I can add you to the list. So if you know someone isn't on here let them know about it.

I would like to use this as a way to break up into a few smaller groups for carpooling as well as, making 4 groups and each take charge in making a nights dinner. We can also plan on making and borrowing sleds to haul all our crap up there. We need to make sure we bring all the party favors we need!

So start asking around who has those fancy sleds, and tell fellow yurt people about this.

Oh yeah, Tim how much did we pay the yurt people already? Who paid and how much more do we owe?

Don't forget to see if there are comments for each post. I don't know how to get it so you can see other posts.

Thanks,

Toby

Pony Keg(s)...

Please note: the picture Toby just posted prominitly displays (1) pony keg in front of the yurt. There are two separate yurts here so I propose we will need at least two kegs. I would like volunteer to carry in one of the taps.
